I know I said that I would be posting nature-y pics, butttt....

Ms. KC to the MAXXX shares my love of vintage looks and retro hair, and she wanted to be informed if I found easy hairstyles that she could try, so, here we are.

This style is actually something that I used to do a lot more often, before I learned how to do Victory Rolls, which look like this -->

And which I might do a sort-of tutorial on later?

Notice how the rolls form circles on top of the head? I know it's a crappy picture, but eh.

The style that I did today is so much easier, and far less time-consuming.

What you'll need:

Brush
Bobby Pins

Optional:
Pretty combs or flowers to put in your hair after it's up
Mousse (for scrunchy curls/waves)

What to do:

1.) I usually start with damp hair, just because it's easier for me to deal with. Take one side of your hair, and part it going up from the ear, towards your natural part. Hold it over your head, with one hand. You'll want to smooth out any bumps by brushing it up towards your hand, over your head. Take the hair, and twist it in the direction of the natural part on your head. It's better if you dont' twist it too far down, so that when you pin it up, the front poofs just a bit. You can also push the twist forward towards your face if you want more poof. Pin in place.

Should sort of look like this -->

2.) Repeat with the other side, again, twisting the hair in the direction of your part.

<-- Should look kinda like that.

Optional Steps:

3.) I have a natural wave to my hair, so I like to scrunch a medium weight mousse into the rest of my hair, and let it dry into curls and waves. Or you can twist the remaining hair up into a clip or French twist (which is just like you would do to clip it up, but tucking the ends of your hair under the twist, and stabbing with pins until it stays.)

4.) Add pretty clips, bows, combs, or flowers into your hair, wherever you feel it looks best. I like to keep flowers in my hair with two bobby pins, crossed over the stem in an 'X' shape. Stays for hours!

This is what it looks like all together:

(Disregard that ugly bandaid. D: I have a ouchie.)

Okay, so next time I'll post some more pictures of plants and stuff, besides myself, lol.

I hope you have fun trying this out, and don't be afraid to play around with the instructions, you never know what you'll end up with! And I'd love to see what you came up with, so send me pics!
